When we think of our image , most believe it’s how we look. That is a just a portion of what influences. In reality our “look” goes beyond the eyes. Although that is the first thing that we notice, it is only part of the “picture “. Our other senses play a part of that scenario which we are creating and this is a useful thing if you know how to take advantage of it.
It has been scientifically proven that particular sounds and smells provoke strong memories. An old song you haven’t heard in a while will immediately bring you to a specific time and place in your life. You remember every word of that song and details that were forgotten somehow are vivid now. Just like when you enter a restaurant and the aroma of a food can remind you of Grandma’s house, or pine trees make you think of Christmas, or what I get a lot since I have to use sunscreen all the time, people say it smells like the beach.
Since the first impression we make is so important, the better image we present will leave a much more powerful memory. And that’s where a nice fragrance can make all the difference. Since I relate everything to a fight, this is now a winning combination. We are well dressed ( good fit ), pleasant smile (white teeth ), and moving in for either a firm handshake or even a very light kiss on the cheek ( latina ! ). As soon as we get in that close, personal range, the fragrance kicks in, adding to an already great impression. By including another sense in the picture ( positive) we are not only seperating ourselves from every other guy but have another element to that image. This makes you even more memorable and builds a superior resume .
The same way you remember what something rotting smells like, a good fragrance will always stay too. So whatever you choose to use that ” fits ” your event and personality, remember it is just as important as brushing your teeth. Because if your mouth stinks, she will never forget that either !
