Guys always like to talk about cars. Whether you are an expert with motors and transmissions or just like a particular car and color, it’s always an interesting topic. For some guys it becomes a status symbol. But does it really matter? How does your vehicle affect your image?
Your first car is a rite of passage all boys go through. It is your first big purchase, and responsibility. But as we grow up and either can afford a much better one or just get something that takes you around , our opinion changes. We all know the saying ” Will a Bentley take me anywhere that a Volkswagen can’t “. As true as that statement is, it is always being said by the guy driving a crappy car ! So does what you drive affect people’s impression of you? The answer is yes, but not why you would think.
The car you drive does reflect who you are , but not by price. The type of person you are usually influences your choices ( $ also !). An outdoorsman would more than likely have a Jeep or a Truck . A guy who is into his look and status would be willing to spend money on a luxury car because he feels it fits him. But if you just use your car to get around the neighborhood, or just use it to get back and forth to work, any good reliable car is preferable. But what about the guy who doesn’t even own a car ? If you live in a big city, where there is transportation 24/7 , and parking is difficult or even worse , expensive, owning a car is unnecessary.
So does, your car reflect your image? Yes, but only if it matters to you. If you are into having a fancy car , good for you. And if it makes you feel good , it is worth every penny. But at the same time, if a car is just a tool, and you feel that it is a material expense that is of least importance to you, you are also correct. And that also reflects who you are, not good or bad. So does it reflect who you are, yes. But does it matter, only to you and the people who really know who you are.
